I just got a wireless router, so I'm very busy not sleeping. So far I've watched the four episodes of V that have come out, and the first 1.5 episodes of The X-Files. The fucking work-around for Megavideo limits didn't work on the second episode, so I gave up.

I've been slogging through fantasy novels looking for something to read since I finished The Mageborn Traitor. Melanie Rawn is a bitch. Anyhow, I came across THIS:

Now, I believe it was the summer before 7th grade. I had a reading assignment. I was to read Dragonwings, and write some kind of report on it. Well, I went to the library, and wound up with Dragon Wing. So I spent the next month trying very hard to read through this LONG ASS book, meant for pimply, nerdy man-children about TROLLS AND SHIT, comprehending nothing, thoroughly bewildered, believing this was what the teacher intended me to read, when I SHOULD have been reading some book MEANT for 6th-7th graders about happy little Chinese kids. When I turned in my report at the start of the school year, my teacher wrote some crap about me reading a very high-level book, blah, blah, blah, on the paper, threw on a smiley sticker, and that was it. I personally think she should have at least given me a personal pan pizza certificate or a dress-down-day pass, or SOMETHING!

So ends the tale of my worst experience with a "school" book ever.
